Stannochy Energy Hub, Brechin
As part of our research activities into integrating clean energy with land uses, we collaborated with the University of Dundee Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering through a grant award from the ETP to develop a feasibility model on collocating green hydrogen production as a clean fuel source for heavy duty vehicle use.

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) research paper – an emerging Scottish context
Through our research and land management work, RCL were commissioned by Perth & Kinross Countryside Trust and the Riverwoods Almond Headwaters programme to undertake a research study into the emerging BNG policy framework in the UK and the potential applications in Scotland, as part of a nature recovery strategy.

Battery Energy Storage Scheme – Stracathro Estates, Angus
As part of our work on energy planning and decarbonisation, RCL have been commissioned by Spanish energy company OPDE in partnership with Stracathro Estates to progress a 249MW Battery Energy Storage Scheme (BESS) at Addicate Wood, near Brechin in Angus.

Perth West – Innovation highway and eco park
Planning permission was granted on the 6th September 2023 for a strategic, mixed use development on the western edge of Perth which evolved through a charette consultation and design process to inform the Local Development Plan for a 3000+ home, 25 hectare business park and associated amenities.
