Innovation highway and eco park

Planning permission was granted on the 6th September 2023 for a strategic, mixed use development on the western edge of Perth which evolved through a charette consultation and design process to inform the Local Development Plan for a 3000+ home, 25 hectare business park and associated amenities.

Details
Perth West is a unique proposition to integrate low carbon innovation within a single urban development, comprising:

  • The Perth Innovation Highway connecting smart city mobility and full fibre strategies with renewable energy sources;

  • The Perth Eco Innovation Park with facilities over 25 hectares for advanced logistics and a Living Lab centre to host academic research;

  • The DR.ECO solar park connecting 20MW of solar energy into smart grid networks serving the development; and

  • The Lamberkin Villages centred around community mobility hubs to promote active travel and wellbeing through blue-green infrastructure and the promotion of the 20 minute neighbourhood.

At the core of the project is the ambition to enable the decarbonisation of mobility and neighbourhood energy systems through connected physical and digital infrastructure, land uses and phasing. This covers a mobility hub, last mile delivery facility and neighbourhood energy system integrated with car share, bus and a cycle and pedestrian routes.

Through the Tay Cities Deal, the project aims to build a living lab where new forms or urban mobility and local energy systems can be explored and tested with local, national and European partners and experiences shared.
